How Flight Brought the End

to Breaking News: Death…

Most of us alone, we made our take-offs;

we had so much to lose.

Some of us flew to escape, knowing fear

is one route to courage,

but others flew for a panoramic

vision of the long run

and to strategize our hearts as ruthless

weapons. We knew the would-be

Dominator within, therefore could

resist the man without.

Now dead, we serve witness to the offspring,

who take off together, as one bird,

one great trust, a global murmuration

of swooping, swirling patterns

of ruthless love, protecting new forms

of making Home.
